Jaipur the Beautiful Pink City of India – An Amazing Place to Visit

Jaipur, popularly known as Pink City is the largest city and India’s first planned city in Rajasthan. This city was established by Jai Singh II in eighteen century in the year 1727. It is one of the greatest tourist spot for Indians as well as tourist from all over the world. It was formerly the capital of Kachwaha rulers and because of it, it represent wide tourism destination that attracts tourist from all around the globe and make them admire the amazing beauty of the monument and palaces. Jaipur is also among the tourist Golden Triangle of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Jaipur is remarked as Pink City because of its colored buildings which were painted in pink to intimate the rich architecture of Mughal cities.


City Palace: 

     It is located in the middle of the city, occupying about one seventh of the total area of the city. The palace is mixture of Mughal and Rajput Architecture. The structure is a seven storied with Chandra Mahal in the centre.  It has art gallery paintings of mughal, rajasthani and persian schools. There is a beautiful peacock gate that shows detailed craftsman ship and the level of skill that the architecture had at that time. There is museum, wide spread art gallery and several royal costumes and even old weapons that were used by warriors.


Hawa Mahal: 

      Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh built the Hawa Mahal in 1799. It is among the most recognizable and popular Jaipur monument. It is a 5 storied beautiful monument having near about 152 windows over hanging balconies depicting fine piece of Rajput architecture and that’s the reason why it was named as hawa mahal. The actual reason why it was designed was for the royal ladies to enjoy several activities and processions that used to take place on the street below. The special feature of the newly setup museum is the “Jaipur past and present” display.




Jantar Mantar Observatory: 

    The Marvelous Jantar Mantar was built between 1727-1734 by King Jai Singh 2, it literally means “calculation instrument”. It is more than collection of sculptures, each structure has a special astronomical function and thus an important place for astronomers. There are total 14 structures which are used to measure time, track stars and predict eclipses. The huge Samrat Yanta sundial is among the most impressive one among all. 




   
     These are some of the important and famous places in Jaipur. Although there are several other places such as Amber fort and places and Jaigarh fort that are worth visiting when one comes to Jaipur for visit but if you have tight schedule then you should visit at least some of the important places.
